Moving on up the coast

We leave behind San Francisco tomorrow and will actually miss the place.
We both really liked this city. It has proper weather but just with a touch more sun than we are used too. The people are friendly, creative and happy. There is something for everyone here and the way they treat tourists is an example to every other city we have been to.
We got Segways round the Marina and to the bridge, rode the trolleys down the impossibly steep hills, walked up the crookedest street in the world and walked round the most infamous prison in the world. We hiked through Muir woods and tasted the grape juice at Sonoma. We ate greek, mexican, chinese and American and of course sampled the local Hooters.
If anyone is thinking about going to Vegas I would recommend flying out from San Francisco and spending a couple of days here, post-trip. It is a great place to breathe deeply, admire the view and detox the sin from your bones.
Next stop: Seattle.

  1. SFO certainly sounds like a better spot than LAX. Might just take your advice this year…

  2. I want to know what makes the locals “creative”. Are they walking down the street doing mime? Are they expressing themselves through the medium of dance as they talk to you? Or is it just because San Francisco is the Gay capital of America and as we know all Gay people are artistic (wow, that is some generalization).
P.S. In San Fran are the Hooter’s employees all men?

  3. The creative vibe comes from writers at cafes, musicians in the park and artist galleries everywhere.
As for the gay thing, it wasn’t particularly overt. Nobody was trying to shove it down your throat or wave it in your face.

    (pause for laugh)
