The Last Post
Well its the last day on our mammoth USA trip and we are still enjoying ourselves.
For those of you who are really bored I put this list together of what tickled us and what irked us. Also if you click on the City it will take you to a video of pics put together by the Wonderful Other Half (WoH)…all except Florida and Boca for some reason..
FLORIDA
Highlight: Dinner at The Grand Floridian, then going to The Magic Kingdom at midnight all dressed up.
Lowlight: Universal Studios not opening all their rides ’til enough people were in the park.
BOCA RATON
Highlight: Train Journey down, Seafood at the Plaza, Cheerleaders staying at our hotel
Lowlight: Lightning storm, Fat Cheerleaders staying at our hotel
MIAMI
Highlight: Our upgrade to a suite at The Beacon
Lowlight: Spring Breakers at the hotel
LOS ANGELES
Highlight: California Soarin’ at Disney, on set at Numb3rs,
Lowlight: crappy transport between locations
LAS VEGAS
Highlight: Helicopter over the grand Canyon, cashing in two consecutive poker tourneys, WoH getting jackpot on Deal or no Deal, meeting Penn & Teller, Paris hotel room, Spamalot, the bus ride in, basically everything we did.
Lowlight: leaving
SAN FRANCISCO
Highlight: View from the hotel room, Segway round the bay, Alcatraz, Sonoma, meeting James May, Ruths Chris Steak House, first baseball game
Lowlight: Stoopid Americans on our bus trip who had never seen a tree before (AKA The Gump sisters)
SEATTLE
Highlight: Throwing things into the sea at The Edgewater Hotel, Underground tour, food
Lowlight: Everything else…too much like Aberdeen
VANCOUVER
Highlight: Capones Restaurant, finding Diet Irn Bru on sale
Lowlight: Weather
BOSTON
Highlight: Ghosts & Graveyards tour, Red Sox & Yankees game at Fenway, Dicks restaurant, Beacon Hill, Cheers, Oyster House
Lowlight: WoH picking up a ’sports’ injury, United Airlines baggage fiasco
NEW YORK
Highlight: New York Palace Hotel, Central Park, view from Rockefeller Plaza, Bus tour at night
Lowlight: Scummy Holiday Inn room,Pope pushing up our hotel prices and causing traffic mayhem
WASHINGTON
Highlight: Newseum, Lincoln Monument, Segway tour, Being on malaysian TV, White House, Hotel Suite
Lowlight: Smithsonian, mixed weather, odd transport system,going home
Overall it has been a marvellous trip and thanks to all those who have been following the blog. If you have been reading it but haven’t commented, please do so, I may just keep it going.
