Windows 7 system ‘nothing like’ Macintosh System 7 says Ballmer

Microsoft have disputed claims that Windows 7, the proposed follow up to Vista, is anything like the Macintosh system launched in 1991.

‘For starters it won’t run on a Mac (unless it’s one of those dual boot things)’ said CEO Steve Ballmer ‘ We are building an all-in one monitor and hard drive to house the new OS and are introducing a revolutionary development in interface technology – a one-button mouse. The OS itself will introduce features like file sharing, co-operative multitasking and virtual memory. Any accusation that we have just taken a 17 year old Apple Macintosh system and stuck on a Windows logo just to get away from the mess that is Vista, is plainly quite wrong.’

A lawyer from Apple was unavailable to write to us as he was too busy rubbing his hands with glee.

(I apologise for the high level of geekiness in this post. It’s only funny to those of a technical bent)
